A beautiful sunset creates such inspiration for Silk Creations by Janey!!!!

Tonight was an amazing and spectacular sunset on the beach at Pelada!!!  Silk Creations by Janey was blessed to be able to see this incredible display of colors including the way the water looked like lava in the rocks on Playa Pelada!!  Such an inspiration!!!  I am so looking forward to painting my next Christina Sunset series silk....this is my inspiration!!!!!

Silk Creations by Janey is so happy to be enjoying her work painting several new creations this morning!!  As the painting was progressing here in Costa Rica, a troop of howler monkeys came to visit!  I cannot see them in the canopy but I can definitely hear there calls since they are just above my house!!!

Silk Creations by Janey is so incredibly excited to be blogging from 10,000 ft and heading to the studio in Costa Rica for a few days!!!  I will be spending valuable and special time painting and getting inspired by the beauty of Costa Rica during the green season!! I am also so excited to see so many of the amazing, beautiful and powerful women who give me such incredible energy and positive love for my work!! Silk Creations by Janey is proud to announce acceptance in The South Fork Craftmen's Guild Show - September 5, 2015!!!

Silk Creations by Janey just received official notification of acceptance into the The South Fork Craftmen's Guild Show http://www.southforkcrafts.com/index.asp to be held on September 5, 2015 in the Hamptons!!  I am so excited and look forward to this incredibly exclusive show.  This is a juried show with a select group of 60 artists held every year.  It will be held at the Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church on Saturday, September 5th!!  I am so looking forward to this show!!!

Silk Creations by Janey asks for prayers for a special person fighting the ultimate battle.

I posted a week ago about a special commissioned scarf I was painting for a very special person.  It is now time that I ask all of my friends and those who care to please send a special prayer for this wonderful woman who is fighting for her life.  I painted this scarf as a healing scarf to help her during this challenging time.  Blue, turquise and yellow are all healing and peaceful colors, so I blended them all on a 22x90 silk charmeuse scarf so that she would feel loved, peaceful and honored.

But things have not been going well.  Sadly, she has not been able to receive her scarf yet because she was rushed to the hospital. Hopefully when she does receive it tomorrow, it will bring her comfort.  I ask for your prayers for her and if you want to send personalized messages, you can send them to my email - janey@silkcreationsbyjaney.com  or private IM me on Facebook.  I would like to tell you a little about her story....

           I met my friend, her brother, a few months ago.  He told me about a lot of things.  The story that stuck was the story about the fact that shortly after he and his wife divorced, his wife was diagnosed with cancer and passed shortly after.  My friend and his former wife had a daughter who then had to deal not only with the fact that her parents had split, but then shortly after the death of her mother.  My friend's sister stepped in and became a type of surrogate mother to my friend's daughter. 

           In May, my friend's daughter was getting married.  My friend's sister was in every sense the mother of my friend's daughter as she prepared to get married.  All was wonderful and everyone was joyful because there had been so much pain in his daughter's life and this was the most beautiful and special day for not only the daughter, but all of the family. 

Unbelievably, my friend's sister had a fall shortly before the wedding.  She claimed that all was well and she was not in any danger.  My friend's daughter had a beautiful wedding, left for her honeymoon and all in the family thought all was well. 

About 10 days ago, my friend's sister informed the family that she has been diagnosed with cancer and the prognosis to date has not been very positive.  She was rushed to the hospital the night before last because she is having breathing problems.  This is a woman who has been active her whole life and is a wonderful and caring person.

I ask those who read this to please PLEASE send healing thoughts and prayers.  Please send any messages to me so that I can send them on to this caring and wonderful woman.

Silk Creations by Janey is spending Sunday night painting and listening to great music!!

Tonight is a night for creativity!!  Silk Creations by Janey has been working on several silks and have so many more in mind!!  It is a night for passionate painting and lots of energy!!  Thunderstorms have been rolling through!!!  Energy abounds!!

I can't wait to share with you this coming week the work that was the result of tonight!!!  Each is a one of a kind and an original!!  I can't ever duplicate any of these!  It is so much fun watching each silk emerge from being a white piece of cloth to an original piece of art!!!!

Silk Creations by Janey is delivering a very special scarf this evening.....

Silk Creations by Janey was commissioned to create a very special scarf for a very special woman going through the toughest battle of her life.  I wanted to create a very peaceful, loving, passionate and strong combination of colors to comfort her in this time.  This piece is a 22x90 Silk Charmuese, the highest quality and most luscious of the silks I use.  There are over 30 layers of color on this piece with each one being laid with purpose, love and passion.  It is with love that I send this piece of my art to her.

Silk Creations by Janey is working on a very special custom commission piece (not pictured above).  I received an order for someone who is gifting a healing scarf to a friend who is battling a serious health issue.  Having studied the healing properties of colors, I have designed a special scarf that is currently in the steamer and will be complete by late this afternoon.  I am honored to be able to design a beautiful piece that will bring comfort, warmth and love to the special person who will become the owner of this custom 22x90 Silk Charmeuse scarf.  I will be posting photos as soon as the scarf is complete.  XOXO

Silk Creations by Janey had a wonderful and exciting weekend at the Annapolis Arts, Crafts and Wine Festival!!  Although Saturday we started with a little rain, the skies cleared and the day was beautiful for most of Saturday and all of Sunday!!!  There were so many incredibly kind and friendly people who stopped by to see my work!  I am always humbled and honored by the glowing comments from my customers and I love when one of my scarves becomes a part of someone's life!!  I strive very hard to create beautiful colors that bring joy and happiness to a day!

Silk Creations by Janey was up early to set up for tomorrow's show!!  We arrived at the Navy-Marine Corps Stadium here in Annapolis just after 8 a.m.  My wonderful helpers, Erica and Wanda, were there to help set up the show!!!  We were actually the first people to arrive this morning!!!

Silk Creations by Janey is starting this wonderful Wednesday morning by painting a new and beautiful Ashley Heavens and Sky series!!  I wanted to share with everyone how the process starts and take you through some of the incredible steps to take this blank white Silk Charmeuse to transform it into an original, one of a kind Silk Creation by Janey!!!!  This photo may not look like much right now, but it is the blank white 11x60 Silk Charmeuse stretched and ready for the hand painting process to start!!! On the silk are some of the incredible brushes that help me bring this white blank silk to it's beautiful finish!!!!

So when I started painting sunsets, I knew she was my inspiration!  She is a true and incredible friend and a strong and intelligent woman!!
